Hey guys,
Yesterday I bought myself a new camera. After doing some research to see which camera would suit my needs, I found out that the Canon EOS 550D (also known as the Canon Rebel T2i for our American friends) was the best choice! So far I'm very happy with it! :D
I bought a special set which includes the body, a Canon 18-55mm lens and an additional 70-300mm lens from Tamron. Of course I couldn't help myself but to compare the two lenses, and see which one is better for photographing miniatures. The additional Tamron lens is a so-called Macro lens, but it more for getting things from far away very close - it's not very comfortable when photographing miniatures, because I have to sit like 2 meters away from the mini!
Anyway, here's two pictures I took with the different lenses. It's up to you to decide which one you like better! Keep in mind I'm a total noob with this camera - I'm still finding out how this thing works!

These pictures haven't been edited yet, except for some cropping to keep them reasonably sized!
Please let me know what you guys think! :)
They are both good but I think I slightly prefer the one on the left so the canon lense, think the mini looks more natural as opposed to the one on the right which looks more artificially lighted.
ReplyDeleteAwesome paint job on the clan rat by the way :)

Thanks a lot for the comment, Si!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I guess the Tamron lens really isn't meant for anything that small. It's really awesome for taking pictures of neighbours.. err.. I meant, nature and animals!
Cheers!
